On Tuesday in Abuja, President Muhammadu Buhari prompted Nigerians to stand up to agents bent on bringing the country’s law and order system to a halt, assuring that no individual or group will be allowed to destabilize the country.

“We have the land, the resources, and the people,” says the narrator. But I don’t understand why people will allow themselves to be successfully destabilized in their own country,” the President said at an Iftar dinner with Governors, Ministers, and Heads of Government Agencies.

President Buhari expressed confidence in the country’s ability to succeed despite current security challenges, thanking Governors and Ministers for honoring his invitation to break the Ramadan fast.

The President stated that, as a beneficiary of free, fair, and credible elections, the introduction of technology and the Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) will make it impossible for anyone to claim millions of votes in the country again.

We have a leader who is not distracted by temporary setbacks but remains committed to the renewal of our country, and we, the governors, ministers, and heads of government agencies, are equally committed to making Nigeria a better place under your watch,” he said.

The Governor of Ekiti, noting that this year’s Holy month of Ramadan coincided with the recently concluded Christian Lenten period, said it holds immense spiritual value on the benefits of renewal, sacrifice, almsgiving, forgiveness, and healing for both individuals and the nation.

Dr Kayode Fayemi, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, praised President Buhari for displaying resilience and determination during a critical period in Nigeria’s history.
