Tim Westwood, a British DJ, and radio presenter have been accused of sexual assault by a number of women.
The accusations claimed he used his position in the music industry to exploit them, according to the BBC. Between 1992 and 2017, Westwood, 64, is accused of predatory sexual behavior and touching.
Seven women said they met Westwood through his profession in an investigation that will air on Tuesday. Two of the women, who wanted to work in the music industry, said they agreed to meet him in London to talk about music. They accuse the DJ of driving them to a flat and forcing them to engage in unwelcome and unplanned sex.
According to one of them, she was 19 at the time, while Westwood was 53. Another lady claimed she met Westwood, who was then in his mid-30s and a member of an R&B group when she was 17 and a member of an R&B group.
She claimed that after consenting to see him, she was subjected to unwanted oral sex.
Four young women have also accused the DJ of grabbing their bottoms or breasts while posing for photos with him at several occasions where he performed.
For a long time, allegations regarding Westwood’s behavior toward young black women have been circulating on social media. The DJ made a statement in 2020 dismissing the charges as “fabricated allegations” with no basis.
