Cole enlists 21 Savage and Morray for a single on “m y. l I f e” where they talk about the difficulties of their different come-ups and the rewards of their tenacity. They also discuss what their life would have been like if they hadn’t struggled to survive.

Since 2014 Forest Hills Drive, J. Cole has infamously refrained from including features on his albums, creating a phenomenon in pop culture. This is one of just two songs on The Off-Season that feature guest rap verses, making it the first Cole solo album to feature such verses since 2013’s Born Sinner.

I’m hoping that the success of this album will help the Afro-classic crooner reach new heights.
