J. Cole examines his life and work on “l e t. g o. m y. h a n d,” revealing some of the concerns he has recently experienced and the fears he has as the father of a black son in America.
The title of the song was inspired by a time when Cole’s son asked him to release his hold so he could walk by himself.
The chorus and bridge of the song feature vocals from Bas and 6LACK; the outro features a speech by Diddy.
I’m hoping that the success of this album will help the Afro-classic crooner reach new heights.
